Introduction

SPAR South Rand is seeking to recruit a Divisional Accountant to become a part of their dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Located in Jet Park, the successful candidate will provideleadership and oversee all accounting and financial functions within the SPAR South Rand division, acting as the second-in-command to the Financial Executive.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Supervise subordinates to ensure that the productivity of the Finance Department is either maintained or enhanced.
• Guarantee the integrity of three General Ledgers.
• Offer financial leadership to management.
• Ensure the robustness of internal controls and implement necessary changes.
• Make sure the accuracy and timeliness of reports submitted to SPAR Central Office.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.
• Verify the accuracy of all inter-group transactions.
• Complete various ad hoc special projects.
• Manage working capital effectively.
• Oversee audit processes.
• Facilitate annual budgeting.
• Administer the Payroll Function.
• Supervise the Creditors Function.

Desired Experience & Qualification

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

• A National Senior Certificate (Matric) is a prerequisite.
• A CA(SA) qualification is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Experience in the FMCG sector is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SAP is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to work under high stress is essential.
• Capability to build strategic working relationships.
• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
• A valid Driver’s Licence is required.
